Premium Processing for FY2019 Cap-Subject H-1B Visa Applications Unavailable Until Further Notice

While USCIS will begin accepting FY 2019 cap-subject H-1B visa applications starting April 2nd, it does not anticipate accepting requests for Premium Processing (a 15-day processing timeframe) of those applications until September 10, 2018. USCIS believes that this move will help to reduce the overall processing time for H-1B visa applications.

According to USCIS, it will reject the FY 2019 cap-subject H-1B visa application if it includes a combined check for the H-1B visa application filing fee and the Premium Processing fee. USCIS further clarifies that it will continue to consider expedite requests despite not accepting requests for Premium Processing.
